Stuart was joined by team mates Chris Burton, Sam Griffiths and Shane Rose. The eventing competition consists of three phases, Dressage, Cross Country and Show jumping. Australia was in a good position after Dressage with Chris Burton in second place. The cross country day was a highlight for Australia with Stuart, Sam and Chris all jumping clear around a very tough and technical track. This had the Australian team in the gold medal position going into the final Show jumping round.
After the rigors of galloping almost 6km with 45 jumping efforts during cross country, Stuart’s 18 year old horse Pluto Mio had some difficulties with the technical show jumping course and added penalties to the team total. Chris’s 8 year old horse showed his inexperience having never competed at 4* level before and also received show jumping faults. Whilst the ultimate aim is gold winning a bronze medal is an amazing achievement for the Australian team, especially with the elimination of fellow team member Shane Rose during the cross country phase.
Ceva is a long term supporter of Stuart Tinney and Stuart has shared with us that Ceva’s products for arthritis, including Pentosan and Halo, have contributed to his horse’s long term soundness.
Ceva congratulates Stuart, Pluto Mio and the Australian Eventing team for their brilliant performance.
